By Jose Luis Cruz: During separate burglaries, thieves made off with two guns from two different residences in Northside Belize City. Earlier Breaking Belize News (BBN) posted that a gun was stolen from a residence in Belama Phase I sometime during Holy Saturday and Easter Monday. Then late on Easter Monday, police responded to another burglary that was reported at a residence located at the corner of New Road and Victoria Street in which a 9mm Glock pistol and ammunition were stolen.
When the Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) personnel arrived at the residence, they met with the 42-year-old Belizean businessman, who resides at the property. The businessman informed investigators that prior to the night of April 21, 2025, someone broke into the upper flat of his two-story, cream-colored concrete building.
Stolen from the premises was one black 9mm Glock pistol, along with two (2) magazines and 40 live rounds. The estimated value of the items is $5,000 BZD.
When Scenes of Crime personnel processed the scene, it was revealed that the intruder gained entry by prying open a burglar bar on a window located on the southern side of the building.
No suspects have been identified at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
