By Zoila Palma: Forty-four men and women proudly took the Oath of Allegiance today, officially becoming Belizean citizens during a nationalization ceremony held at the University of Belize auditorium in Belmopan.
The oath was administered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who welcomed the new Belizeans into the national family as they waved their Belizean flags with pride.
Prime Minister John Briceño, members of Cabinet, and representatives of the diplomatic corps were also present for the occasion.
The event marked a milestone for the 44 individuals who now share in the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, joining Belize’s diverse and growing national community.
