By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 4-year-old boy, Rigel Triminius, drowned on Thursday afternoon in his grandfather’s well in San Narciso Village, Corozal.
According to reports, 82-year-old Sylvestre Alcoser realized one of his grandchildren was missing while doing yard work around 3:30 p.m. He found the well’s cover open and the child’s sandals nearby. When he looked inside, he saw Rigel’s body.
Neighbors tried to help, but it was too late.
Rigel attended Chan Chen Government School, where Principal Carlos Itzab described him as “a happy child who loved to play and smile.” Counseling has been offered to students and staff.
May he rest in peace.
