By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a multiple shooting in Belize City in which Joseph Lee Garcia was murdered. The shooting incident was further complicated by a crash of the vehicle at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital that was transporting the shooting victims for medical attention. This incident follows the murder of Mark Usher Jr. on Saturday night.
Initial reports indicate that the driver was racing to the hospital to seek treatment when he lost control and ran into the right front doors of the hospital’s main entrance on Princess Margaret Drive. In the process, a security guard was also injured by the pickup.
The other two (2) shooting victims have been identified as Ronlee Petillo and Cameron August.
The original shooting scene is believed to be in front of Titanic Bar on the Philip Goldson Highway opposite the Immigration Department office, where multiple expended shells were found.
Usher Jr. had just arrived home on Saturday night when he was shot by an individual on bicycle.
