By Aaron Humes: A 22-year-old British student says she was raped while asleep in her room.
The complainant told police that the incident occurred early Tuesday morning, after she returned from a night out with friends on Monday on the island of Caye Caulker.
She had reportedly been at a nightclub on the island and went back to her room around 2:00 a.m. when an unknown man entered the room and sexually assaulted her.
Police confirmed sexual activity following a medical examination. Their investigations continue.
