By Jose Luis Cruz: Earlier today, Breaking Belize News (BBN) reported on a fatal traffic accident that occurred on the Hummingbird Highway. The individual who died in the accident has been confirmed to be 21-year-old Lazaro Alonzo.
The accident occurred just outside Armenia Village early on Wednesday afternoon. When police arrived to the scene, they found a severely damaged red Toyota sports wagon on the roadside. Nearby, officers found the unresponsive body of Lazaro Alonzo with severe injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Alonzo was driving from Armenia Village towards Belmopan when he reportedly lost control. The vehicle overturned and ended on the side of the highway.
Alonzo was ejected during the accident resulting in the fatal injuries. His body was transported to the Western Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
