By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The opening weekend of the 2025 National Amateur Inter-District Championship (NAIC) Round of 16 wasn’t just about results—it was a display of clinical finishing and individual brilliance. From hat tricks to last-gasp equalizers, Belize’s amateur strikers made their mark in style.

⚡ Reyes runs riot for Yo Creek
No one lit up the scoreboard quite like Liam Reyes of Yo Creek United FC. The forward bagged a sensational hat trick (4’, 7’, 73’) in his side’s 4–2 away win over Sarteneja FC, announcing himself as the early frontrunner for the Golden Boot. His quickfire double in the opening minutes stunned the Sarteneja home crowd and set the tone for a dominant performance.

🧊 Ice-Cold finishers in the Clutch
Several players delivered when it mattered most:
• Raheem Moya (Calcutta Bulls FC) – Scored a dramatic equalizer in the 90+5’ minute to rescue a 2–2 draw against San Marcos FC.
• Dejmari Pop (Legends FC) – Converted a pressure-packed penalty in the 38th minute to keep Legends in the tie against Vikings FC.
• Devon Augustine (Survivors FC) – Calmly slotted home a penalty in the 67th minute to open the floodgates in a 4–0 rout of Quintas Elite FC.

⚔ Braces and Battles
• Clifford Sanker (Seabulls FC) – Netted twice (26’, 58’) in a thrilling 2–2 draw with Griga Conquerors FC, showing poise and precision.
• Andres Miranda (Vikings FC) – Struck early with a quick brace (7’, 15’) to silence the home crowd and give Vikings a crucial edge.

🔥 Other Notable Scorers
• Jason Pop (Vikings FC) – Kept his team. in contention with a 23rd minute goal after falling behind 2-0.
• Tyler Peters and Aaron Estero (Griga Conquerors FC) – Each found the net to keep their side level heading into the second leg.
• Kyle Thomas and Jalen Myers (Napoles FC) – Their goals secured a 2–1 away win over San Jose Pumas FC.
