By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As the 2025 Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic nears its dramatic conclusion, American Alfredo Bueno of Legion of Los Angeles and British competitor Jim Brown of Miami Blazers, have shaken off their final rival, Colombian Uriel Omar Espinoza, after Mile 8, solidifying their control of the race as they ride together into Belize City.

The duo, who worked together throughout the grueling journey, proved too strong for Espinoza, who lost contact with the leaders as they ramped up the pace. Now, Brown and Bueno are locked in a tactical battle, both knowing that only one will cross the finish line at Digi Park as the 2025 champion.

Behind them, Espinoza is pushing to limit the damage, but the gap appears insurmountable. The chasing group, featuring Belize’s strongest competitors, remains well behind, ensuring that victory will go to one of the front-runners.

With just a couple miles remaining, all eyes are on Brown and Bueno. Will they settle the race with a sprint, or will one rider make a bold solo attack for victory?

The finish line is in sight, and the tension is at its peak as the nation awaits its next champion.
