By Aaron Humes: Police announced on Monday that 19-year-old Jahan Flores has been charged with two counts of murder, as part of the ongoing investigation into the double murder of Zamar Alvarez and Calvert Westby Junior, which occurred on Friday, February 13 in Belmopan.
The young men were shot dead on the Central Walkway around six in the evening; their bodies were found a few hours later.
ASP Stacy Smith confirmed there will hopefully be additional arrests, adding, “What I can say is that the arrested person is someone who was familiar with both of the deceased.”
In fact, we understand that they had been together earlier in the day, but no motive has been declared for the killings.
