By Zoila Palma: One hundred and seventy-three students from Solomon’s Adventist Primary, Carmelita Government School, and Trial Farm Government Primary School have proudly graduated from the Community Policing Positive Engagement and Civic Education (PEACE) Program).
The initiative, led by Commander of Community Policing, Howell Gillett, aims to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to make positive life choices.
Over a period of 12 weeks, students participated in interactive and engaging sessions focused on critical topics such as resisting drugs, gangs, and bullying, while strengthening their decision-making and leadership skills.
The program emphasized the importance of discipline, respect, and community values as key foundations for a brighter future.
Commander Gillett expressed deep appreciation to the administrations of the participating schools for their collaboration and to the parents for their trust and support in allowing their children to be part of the transformative experience.
“With these promising young graduates,” Gillett noted, “Belize’s future shines even brighter.”
The PEACE Program continues to serve as a model of community partnership, guiding Belize’s youth toward safer, more positive paths.
