The Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB) has confirmed that 129 cyclists, including five foreign riders, have registered for the 34th Annual KREM New Year’s Day Cycling Classic to be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Ninety-five Elite, Under 23, and Masters riders registered for the main race from the Belize-Mexico border to Belize City.
2024 Champion, American John DeLing, won’t be riding but Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic Champion, Honduran Luis López, will be among the favourites.
Twenty-eight signed up for the Orange Walk to Belize City races, including 22 Junior/Youth and six Elite Women. Additionally, six riders registered for the Women’s Junior/Youth Categories race from the Crooked Tree junction to Belize City.
“The event starts at 9:00 a.m. from the Belize Mexico Border for the Men; 9:30 and 9:35 a.m. from Orange Walk for the Male Junior Youth and Women, respectively. The Women Junior Youth will start at 9:30 a.m. from the Crooked Tree Roundabout,” the CFB said in a post.
