Cyprus 1st International Online Digital Photographic Competition (2007)

We are very pleased to inform you that our unique photographic competition has been completed and judged by an international jury, including the Irish photographer, Sean Casey, MFIAP, the Greek photographer, Ioannis Lykouris of the Hellenic Photographic Society and three Cypriot distinguished photographers, Andreas Coutas, Marios Taramides and Vassos Stylianou.

Our very successful event is sponsored by our Ministry of Education and Culture, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), the Press and Information Office and Cyprus Telecommunications Authority.  Μedia sponsors are: the newspapers ‘Phileleftheros’, ‘Cyprus Weekly’ and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (Radio & TV).

It would be a great honor for us and it would be very much appreciated by all involved, if you would kindly agree to publish the winning photographs of both topics ‘Environment’ and ‘Open’, in your publication.  Such a nice and kind gesture will encourage our sponsors to support our second IODPC!

We would be very happy to reciprocate by hosting your banner (150x60 pixels in gif, jpg or swf format) with a link, in the competition’s website (www.iodpc.com) until the end of 2008.  The website is visited daily by nearly 2.000 persons.

For information, 5.902 photographs were uploaded on the competition’s website www.iodpc.com and 6.804 are the registered participants and users, from 102 countries.  They all had the privilege and opportunity to participate in the preliminary public voting.  An innovative action which proved very popular.

The final exhibition, comprising 100 photos, 50 under ‘Environment’ and 50 under ‘Open’, dimensions 50 X 75 cm, will be opened on Monday 25 February 2008, in Nicosia, by the Minister of Education and Culture and the General Secretary of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP),

Mr Riccardo Busi. The competition is organized under the auspices of the International Federation.
